Organic farm
Founded in 1991 in Serre di Rapolano, in the heart of Tuscany
The headquarters is an ancient farm dating back to the 1500s, surrounded by the soft lines of the hills that follow one another in the enchanting landscape of the Crete Senesi. The goal is to practice organic agriculture, giving life to a sustainable microcosm both from an ecological, economic and social point of view. An innovative production model for the time, very far from the diktats of the conventional agriculture most widespread in those times. From the beginning, local and ancient varieties have been cultivated, excluding the use of fertilizers, chemical and synthetic pesticides, just as the first European regulation of 1991 on organic farming established. Thus, already in 1993, the company acquired the organic certification from ICEA.
The first organic agricultural brewery in Italy
From our fields where the ears will soon give way to the "stecce", genuine beers are born where the flavors of ancient cereals are rediscovered.
Craft beers that tell the story of the Crete Senesi. La Stecciaia is the first artisanal agricultural brewery with organic certification in Italy and was born within the Podere del Pereto farm in Riva Isabella which has been growing cereals according to the organic method since 1997.
